About The Public Affairs Department
The Public Affairs department is composed of four teams that work closely together: Marketing, Communications, Community Engagement, and Business Development. The teams provide clear, informative, and engaging content to our communities, acting as a trusted partner to our customers. They also bring the voice of the customer and community into MCE’s decision-making process to drive more effective planning.
As a Digital Marketing Manager, Operations
As the Digital Marketing Manager, Operations, at MCE, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your key responsibilities will include planning, implementing, managing, and supporting our digital marketing initiatives, with a focus on email marketing, customer journeys, and optimizing our digital marketing channels such as advertising, social media, websites, and mobile marketing.
You’ll play a pivotal role in analyzing campaign performance and providing actionable insights to improve effectiveness, leveraging your expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, digital marketing tools, and analytics platforms.

- Problem Solver: You proactively identify and address challenges in digital marketing campaigns. Whether it’s troubleshooting issues with marketing tools or finding creative solutions to improve campaign performance, you’re quick to act and take ownership.
- Process Optimizer: You thrive on refining and documenting processes, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. You clearly outline roles, responsibilities, and timelines for cross-team collaboration.
- Campaign Manager: You excel at executing, managing, and optimizing email marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Brand Advocate: You ensure brand integrity and consistency across digital channels and platforms. You enjoy ensuring colleagues and vendors have easy access to branded templates and materials.

- Support the management of MCE’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment and collaborate with Technology and Analytics and Customer Operations departments on platform improvements and CRM integrations.
- Proactively stay updated on emerging digital marketing trends and technologies (e.g., automations, analytics) to keep the team competitive and informed.
- Build new and manage existing dashboards to provide campaign insights to staff, consultants, partners, and leadership, utilizing web analytics and tracking tools such as Google Marketing and Analytics Eco-System and equivalent platforms.
- Provide monthly omnichannel marketing performance reports, conduct analysis, communicate campaign performance by channel, and proactively participate in strategic discussions to improve performance.
- Work with marketing managers to refine data-driven strategies and provide recommendations for launching new campaigns, or discontinuing or modifying underperforming initiatives based on effectiveness towards achieving departmental or agency goals.
- Refine and document standardized processes for cross-team projects, clearly outlining roles, responsibilities, and timelines for consistent and streamlined collaboration.
- Execute and manage the launch of multiple marketing and compliance email campaigns via Journey Builder, Salesforce Sends, or Granicus govDelivery Communications Cloud with accuracy, industry best practices and standards, and compliance principles.
- Execute basic website updates in WordPress and interface with web developers for optimization.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification
- Working with diverse communities.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills for alignment among staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to attend virtual meetings earlier than standard business hours with vendors in other timezones. MCE standard working hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (PT)
- Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, marketing, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of digital marketing campaign reporting, optimization and strategy, email distribution, and cross-team collaboration.
- Five (5) years of demonstrated solutioning experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Basic functionality and principles of Salesforce CRM.
- Google Marketing and Analytics Ecosystem tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Google Maps, Google Cloud, Google and URL Builder.
- Wordpress and related applications and plugins for optimization, user experience, and ADA compliance.
- HTML
- SQL, AMPscript, and SSJS for Marketing Cloud related applications.
- Website cookie privacy policy management and opt out functionality.
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Project management platforms (Asana, Monday).
- Conduct thoughtful data analysis.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences with diverse levels of understanding.
- Execute impactful presentations and reports to collaborators and decision-makers.
- Troubleshoot issues, and research and implement solutions.
- Maintain a proactive and growth mindset.
- Take responsibility and work independently, as well as coordinate team efforts.
- Be thorough and detail-oriented.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive compensation package offered, based on candidate experience along with generous benefits and perks, including fully paid premiums for health insurance, parental leave, dependent care subsidies, student loan repayment, and employee wellness program.
Starting Salary Range for a Digital Marketing Manager, Operations: $128,258.06 - $167,804.30. Application Process
