AltaGas - Digital Field Specialist

The Digital Field Specialist role is responsible for implementing and supporting Digital-managed assets within Midstream facilities including Network, Server, End User Equipment and Digital processes in the field to enhance operational security, efficiency and customer engagement. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.


You will:

Responsible for implementing IT Network, Network Security capabilities, Windows Server hardware and software in alignment to standards and best practices for effective sustainment. Provide insights to improving IT Network and Network Security Standards.
Support the maturity of IT Network Sustainment by providing insights in determining performance measures.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server hardware and software, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Implement and manage server security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Implement and manage centralized security camera and physical access software, troubleshoot connected Field cameras, local recording servers, physical access points and end-user software.
Plan and execute server upgrades and monthly patching tasks to ensure the server infrastructure is up-to-date and secure.
Adhere and contribute to sustainment processes and supporting procedures for Digital Field Solutions.
Collaborate with Digital teams to guide deliverables related to Field IT/OT Network Sustainment practices.
Work closely with Digital and Midstream technical teams to ensure alignment and proper coordination to support reliable and stable operations in the Field.
Contribute to IT Security Information and Events to support effective IT cybersecurity monitoring
Fulfill/respond to field ops technology needs and requirements related to IT/OT Networks.
Support and Contribute to the Ops Technology improvement plans and roadmaps related to Field technology aspects.
Assess, report and recommend on Digital improvements that are applicable to the technologies leveraged within Midstream Operations.
Support Digital and Midstream project groups as a SME relating to Digital technology Field IT/OT Networks.
Actively participate in the Cyber Incident Response and provide key Field Digital information when and where necessary.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in digital technologies.
Create and maintain technical documentation.


You have:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science
5 years practical experience in Windows Server administration
Proven experience in deploying and managing digital networks in a Field (ie Gas Plant / Export Terminal) environment.
Expertise in managing complex network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
Technical experience with: IT network segmentation concepts, Network security enforcement policies. monitoring, designs, equipment patching, network equipment operating systems and management interfaces, network load balancing, network capacity and redundancy planning. network security appliances and capabilities, Physical network connectivity.
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SD-WAN technologies (ie Aruba, Cisco) Complex network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network, network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Excellent complex problem-solving and analytical abilities, as part of troubleshooting, given the impact of an error can create a significant impact to a facility (ie Gas Plant, Export Facility, etc).
Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to travel as required.
