The Opportunity:
Make your mark while you grow your career! Canadian Natural boasts one of the largest in-house Information Systems (IS) departments in Calgary. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust data solutions, including data replication, pipeline development, integration, and conversion. These solutions will support a variety of use cases such as reporting, machine learning, data science, and application-level data integration.
•Job location: Calgary, Alberta
•Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days in office, with some on call support (evenings and weekends)
•Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:
•Develop data solutions that streamline and optimize business processes
•Develop data pipelines from source replication to user end points in line with standards
•Develop estimates of effort for development of, and/or modification to data solutions
•Develop and maintain functional/technical specifications and documentation
•Troubleshoot, debug and fix problems that occur in the everyday use of the data solutions. This includes on-call support for production systems (applications and data).
What You Bring to the Role:
•Post-secondary degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field of study or equivalent experience in data integration or data engineering
•5+ years of experience developing cost optimized, scalable and configurable, ETL//ELT data pipeline data integration, preferably in the upstream oil and gas industry
•Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
•Deep expertise in leveraging the Microsoft Azure cloud platform for data engineering and analytics solutions.
•Proficient in HVR and Informatica for data integration and replication.
•Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
•Skilled in using Visual Studio, Git, Azure DevOps, and Remedy for development and issue tracking.
•Strong background in SQL and PL/SQL, working with Oracle databases.
•Experienced in Python, PySpark, Terraform, YAML, and working with REST APIs.
•Experience with MLOps stacks 2 is preferred
