Job Description:
The Design Engineer II will design and lead fabrication and assembly for new product prototypes to advance the state of the art for power generation equipment. In this position, you will be integrating new technology into existing products as well as designing new prototypes with new technologies through all stages of the development process and product lifecycle. You will be expected to create concepts from the ground up and then work hands on with other team members as they are fabricated, assembled, and tested.
Essential Duties:
•Create and design new power generation equipment in a close-knit team environment.
•Identify new technologies that can be integrated into power generation equipment.
•Perform basic project management, including task and timeline management.
•Conduct initial research or product feasibility studies.
•Coordinate and conduct rapid conceptual product designs.
•Coordinate and conduct detailed product designs.
•Refine design concepts into manufactured products.
•Consult on prototype construction and provide some hands-on assistance.
•Consult on test plan development and review test results.
•Performs all other duties assigned.
Education:
Required:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related major.

Required:
•3 years of 3D parts modeling and complex assemblies focused on manufacturability (as primary duty).
Preferred:
•5 years design experience
•SolidWorks PDM Vault Integration and Utilization
•Fabrication Experience, specifically CNC equipment knowledge (Waterjet, Laser, Brake-Press, Plasma)
•Assembly and/or manufacturing experience
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
