American Well Services is headquartered in Midland, TX and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services including, fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental and wellsite construction. AWS is managed by seasoned industry veterans and services blue-chip customers in the Permian Basin with a substantial asset base, strong safety culture and industry-leading operating procedures. American Well Services provides a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers in the Permian Basin and North Dakota.

Responsibilities:

•

Performs all work during well servicing, from rod basket or tubing board (transfers rods and tubing from vertical racks to elevator)

•

Operates tubing elevators and rod transfers for standing or running tubing from derrick

•

Picks tubing up form pipe racks and places onto floor when running tubing in hole and transferring tubing from floor to racks and when running or laying down rods

•

When rigging up and rigging down, assists Operator in lining up rig with well

•

Sets hydraulic jacks, handles pads/boards and assists in attaching guy wires to anchor

•

Responsible for all elevated work associated with rigging up/down (e.g. removing horse head from pumping unit)

•

Inspects and maintains workover rig (i.e. checks fluid – oil, water, hydraulic, and transmission levels); reports any maintenance issues to Operator

•

Follows and supports all AWS HSE policies at all times

•

Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times

•

Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads including paved and gravel surfaces, and off-road situations including two track roads

•

Washes and maintains vehicles according to company standards

•

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Experience:

•

A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Derrickhand or equivalent, required

•

Able to effectively communicate and work well with others

•

Able to multi-task in fast paced environment

•

Valid vehicle operator’s license with clean driving record

•

Basic problem solving and organization skills

•

Able to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

•

Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on routine basis.

•

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

•

Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold

•

Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE.
