Job Summary:
NAES is seeking a DCS Commissioning Engineer with GE Mark VIe and Balance of Plant controls experience to support the commissioning and startup of a simple-cycle GE 7FA project in Oklahoma. The role will include oversight of IO checkout, loop testing, DCS logic validation, and BOP control integration, working closely with the commissioning, electrical, and construction teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient system turnover.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee DCS-based commissioning activities, including IO validation, loop checks, and logic verification for BOP systems
- Interface with electrical and instrumentation teams to resolve signal, logic, and control integration issues
- Conduct system walkdowns, punch list resolution, and turnover documentation tracking
- Support FAT/SAT, redlining of control documentation, and management of change (MOC) processes
- Coordinate with EPC teams on LOTO, safety protocols, and startup readiness
- Ensure accurate documentation of test results, control configuration changes, and system readiness for energization
- Participate in daily commissioning coordination meetings with EPC, owner’s rep, and operations teams
- Proven experience with DCS commissioning, IC&E startup, or BOP control system energization on power or EPC projects
- Hands-on familiarity with GE Mark VIe or equivalent control systems (Ovation, DeltaV, Allen Bradley, ABB, etc.)
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, IO lists, cause & effect matrices, and control logic diagrams
- Experience working in an environment that utilizes EPC punchlist systems, commissioning turnover packages, and structured Hand-Over-To-Operations processes
- Strong understanding of control system safety interlocks, permissives, and commissioning test plans
- Ability to troubleshoot field signal issues, logic discrepancies, and communication faults between DCS and field devices
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- 10+ years of commissioning, IC&E, or control system startup experience (power generation or EPC environment preferred)- Prior work on GE 7FA, GE Mark VIe, or utility-scale gas turbine commissioning is highly preferred
