We are looking for a DataOps Developer to join our team, focusing on designing, building, deploying, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that power business intelligence, analytics, system integration, and data exploration. In this role, you will ensure the integrity, security, and performance of large datasets while supporting solution architecture and contributing to innovative, data-driven decision-making at Alectra.
What you’ll do
Data Pipeline Development:
•Design and refine ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for optimal data movement, ensuring high quality and reliability.
•Develop and support data models, databases, and data warehouses to facilitate analytics and business intelligence.
Cloud Solutions Management:
•Leverage and manage cloud-based data storage and processing solutions, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and Fabric.
•Identify and promote best practices for cloud services monitoring and management.
•Implement cost-saving strategies to reduce cloud expenses.
Data Governance and Quality:
•Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
•Implement data quality frameworks and workflows to enhance data quality for various analytic use cases.
Technical Collaboration and Development:
•Contribute to all phases of the design, development, and deployment lifecycle of analytic applications using diverse data integration languages and technology platforms.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
•Assist with writing technical sections in RFPs and contributing to business cases.
Monitoring and Optimization:
•Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows and system performance.
•Stay informed on emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.

Other Duties:
•Play a key role in creating and approving data standards, policies, and business rules, and selecting tools to support them.
•Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational objectives
Who you are
Education & Technical Knowledge
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
•Master’s degree in a related field is an asset.
•Expertise in designing and developing data structures and data transformation.
•Proficiency in building data pipelines and solutions on cloud service providers like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with a preference for Microsoft Azure.
•Skilled in using query languages such as SQL and SparkSQL.
Experience
•5+ years of practical experience with data systems, ETL, data processing, and analytics tools.
•Experience in implementing data processing methods for batch or streaming data ingestion, processing, and storage frameworks.
•Strong hands-on working experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure services such as Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Data Lake, Azure Analysis Services, Databricks/Spark.
•Experience in writing test suites and implementing continuous integration and version control using tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.
•Proficiency in Scala, Spark, or Python.
•Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI.

•Must hold and maintain a valid Class “G” driver’s license.
