Technical Operations Specialist

Summary
The Technical Operations Specialist is responsible for monitoring the work flow of customer data (spectroscopic and image) on Hyperspectral Intelligence Inc.'s cloud infrastructure. This role is the operational bridge between our R&D, product, and customer teams, ensuring that data flows smoothly from the field through our processing systems and back to clients with speed and reliability. Primary responsibilities include the secure ingestion of customer data, quality control, monitoring automated processing and verification of customer deliverables. Additional tasks include: 1) updating and maintaining the status of customer projects; 2) communicating with customer operators on data types, sources, inquiries and any required corrective actions with incoming data; and 3) communicating cloud infrastructure problems to the development team. The Data Scientist/ Engineer will also form part of the development team automating tasks for optimal processing efficiency.

Job Duties
Cloud & Data Operations
•Oversee the secure ingestion, organization, and automated processing of spectroscopic and imaging data via cloud infrastructure.
•Monitor data pipelines for errors and performance, and proactively resolve issues to maintain high data quality and operational uptime.
•Support the design and automation of tools to optimize processing efficiency
Development & Support
•Collaborate with the development team to implement and maintain data processing scripts and tools.
•Act as a technical resource for operator training and first-line support for software and hardware issues.
•Write and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
Product & Logistics Support
•Provide insights and recommendations to the product and R&D teams based on data issues, user feedback, and performance trends.
•Contribute to fleet and inventory management support activities, including tracking equipment health and minimizing downtime.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in data management, computer science, software engineering or an acceptable combination of work experience and a college diploma from a related field.
•Good working knowledge and experience with: Cloud computing, Azure products, Linux operating systems and bash shell scripting, Python 3.0 and core libraries (e.g. numpy, scipy, matplotlib).
•Experience working with reflectance spectroscopic data (Hyperspectral data) for geological applications.
•Demonstrated knowledge of database design and analysis, client-server architecture and data modeling.
•Ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation
•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with both technical and non-technical parts of the organization.
•Demonstrated ability to grasp and translate technical concepts, think independently, and take the initiative required to resolve issues in a team structure.
•Knowledge of applicable IT laws and regulations, including any database related privacy laws.
•Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
•Organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented and be able to work well independently as well as within a team.
Work Conditions
•Remote work at a location in Canada, preference may be given to those resident in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
•Travel and overtime as required.
Salary Range
•$65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and level of education.
