JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, the data engineer is responsible for providing both technical and functional support for information systems used in Asset Management, Project Management, and Budgeting. The Data Engineer will be responsible for or involved with identifying, designing, building, integrating, and maintaining operational data from several sources. This position will be responsible for organizing and structuring operational data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability, and continuously enhancing data quality and integrity to support Asset Management, maintenance activities, operational efficiency, and planning.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•Experience as a System Administrator or similar role, with proficiency in developing, operating, and maintaining relational databases (custom and vendor solutions).
•Understanding of DBMS ((Database Management System Architecture) architecture, application architecture, data governance, security, and integration frameworks.
•Experience evaluating client needs, improving processes, and optimizing data management and sharing practices.
•Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data for process enhancement.
•Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) , Power BI, R, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and project management tools. Understanding of technical design specifications, testing conditions, and execution.
•Familiarity with web applications and client/server architecture.
•Strong command of spreadsheet, database, word processing, scheduling, and presentation applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with EPE standard software packages preferred.
•Ability to provide guidance on database architecture, deployment, and application migration.
•Knowledge of economic analysis, negotiating techniques, contract preparation, project evaluation, O&M and capital budgeting, and statistical analysis.
•Strong troubleshooting abilities, ability to conduct research, prepare reports, and analyze variation for informed decision-making.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills to share insights, document findings, and present to audiences with varying technical expertise.
•Ability to facilitate meetings and collaborate with officers, managers, employees, and the public.
•Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters, including regulatory and nuclear-related issues, with a high degree of propriety.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Design, develop, and enhance data platforms and pipelines for Asset Management, identifying and addressing gaps to implement modern solutions.
•Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and improving data infrastructure scalability.
•Ensure effective collection, organization, transformation, and distribution of data from various sources while managing dependencies, metadata, and workload.
•Retrieve, analyze, and present critical operational data to support decision-making, identifying correlations and recommending process improvements.
•Create, review, and maintain Asset Management reports and queries using Power BI and other tools to support end-user information needs.
•Determine business information needs, define system requirements, develop KPIs, and analyze data to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
•Monitor and report on employee engagement, reliability, sustainability, and maintenance KPIs; generate reports and visual presentations for performance analysis.
•Prepare MW/MMBTU consumption reports, outage and compliance reports, and validate NERC Code entries to maintain operational accuracy and regulatory compliance.
•Manage timecards, track PTO, post shift coverage requests, and generate payroll reports to ensure accurate and timely processing.
•Process invoices through LiveLink and Oracle, manage financial reporting, and ensure timely payments, including MPS water bills.
•Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOW) and processing Purchase Orders to support maintenance projects and ensure smooth operations.
•Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, IT, consultants, auditors, and various departments to ensure data integrity, integration, and effective communication.
•Assist in planning and executing projects, including regulatory compliance, design, testing, commissioning, and portfolio management for planned/unplanned outages and complex projects.
•Identify and resolve data quality issues, participate in system upgrades, patches, and ensure smooth operation of Asset Management supporting systems.
•Identify opportunities to improve operations and maintenance by designing analytical studies, modeling cost/savings, and enhancing efficiency.
•Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant governmental laws, safety, and environmental regulations.
•Perform other related tasks as needed within the context of the defined duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
•The incumbents in this classification are subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and temperature changes of extreme cold weather (below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour) and extreme hot weather (temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour); and are exposed to loud noises, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions and oils.
•May work non-standard hours.

•May require out-of-town travel.
