As a member of Intersect’s 20-person Development team, you will report to the Vice President, East Development and play a key role in advancing Intersect Power’s strategy to support the reliability and flexibility of our clean energy projects by integrating gas generations projects and infrastructure to enable firm, dispatchable power across our clean energy portfolio. You will lead the development of gas generation projects and infrastructure, including interconnection, supply agreements, and commercial structuring to support behind-the-meter load and firming resources. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, Land Acquisition, Permitting, Project Finance, Engineering Origination & Trading, and Strategy & Business Development to drive innovative and commercially sound gas solutions that complement our solar, wind, battery storage, and emerging clean energy projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team and help guide complex energy projects in the Texas and Southwest Power Pool regions, as well as across other RTOs and ISOs.
The Data Center Energy Supply Lead
will play a pivotal role in negotiating, contracting and overseeing energy management strategies for large loads in the ERCOT and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) regions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center energy management, load registration and management in RTOs/ISOs, and extensive regulatory experience at the state level. This position requires a unique combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on experience in energy management.
They will be responsible for coordinating with Intersect Power’s Development team to execute commercial agreements with REPs, IOUs and LSEs to enable Intersect’s renewable projects to serve flexible and/or firm load behind the meter.
Negotiate retail tariff agreements, full-service contracts, and sleeving agreements with LSEs to meet the specific energy needs of large commercial and industrial clients. Secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation measures

Lead and manage the process of setting up large loads within the ERCOT and Southwest Power Pool regions, ensuring compliance with all operational and regulatory requirements. Oversee the registration and management of loads in various RTOs and ISOs, ensuring that all processes align with regional market rules and requirements
Evaluate and optimize contract structures across multiple markets. Provide expert guidance on data center energy management, including optimizing energy usage, reducing costs, and ensuring efficiency for large-scale clients
Stay informed on federal, state, and local energy regulations impacting retail tariffs and service agreements. Navigate and advise on regulatory requirements at the state level, with a specific focus on energy policy, compliance, and reporting for RTOs/ISOs
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop long-term energy strategies that maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance
Act as the primary liaison with LSEs, maintaining strong relationships to support effective communication and negotiation across multiple markets. Interface with regulatory bodies, utilities, and market operators to stay ahead of industry changes and to represent client interests
