Job Description:
The Damage Prevention Traveling Trainer is responsible for delivering classroom and field instruction to prepare new locating technicians for field deployment and certification. Reporting to the Director of Training, this role collaborates closely with Operations to align training with organizational standards and performance milestones. Key responsibilities include leading technical instruction, maintaining training documentation, supporting technician development, and ensuring a structured and professional training environment. This role plays a critical part in upholding training quality and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:
Up to 90% Travel
Deliver classroom and field instruction based on GridHawk’s curriculum
Create daily teaching plans and adapt to various learning styles
Monitor and document trainee progress, behaviors, and engagement
Submit daily development reports to management
Communicate trainee readiness and training expectations to the Operations team
Demonstrate and teach proper use of prints, routing practices, equipment, and digital tools (e.g., computers, iPads and smartphones)
Maintain an organized and professional training environment
Uphold and promote safety, quality, and operational standards
Tools Provided:
Company-issued laptop and smartphone
All required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of underground utility locating and pipeline technician experience (5+ preferred)
At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in damage prevention or utility locating preferred
All relevant locating certifications required
High school diploma or GED
Strong communication and leadership skills
Familiarity with training technology and equipment
