Since September 2009, Whitecap has experienced remarkable growth, increasing production from 850 boe/d to over 365,000 boe/d. We are looking for a Senior Crude Oil Scheduler to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Liquids Scheduling, you will contribute to a growing team with long -term strategic goals.
- Manage logistics and scheduling for Whitecap’s conventional and unconventional production across multiple assets, ensuring timely movement to designated transportation points. Coordinate nominations and scheduling activities with strict compliance to sales contracts, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Collaborate closely with internal operations teams to maintain accurate production forecasts. Proactively address forecast revisions, discrepancies, and inconsistencies to help mitigate commercial impacts on Whitecap’s production.
- Monitor supply and demand positions across pipelines and terminals. Advise marketing representatives on inventory status and un-ratable deliveries to minimize potential financial risks.
- Oversee production disruptions and midstream restrictions, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies. Coordinate and implement solutions as needed to maintain operational continuity.
- Support netback optimization and maximize transportation utilization. Enhance volumetric production tracking models to improve data accuracy and reporting.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of transportation options and commitments, including pipeline capacities, tariffs, apportionment, and historical shipment data.
- Work collaboratively with internal business units—such as marketing, Legal, accounting, and business development—to share information, address concerns, and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with external partners including producers, shippers, midstream operators, pipeline companies, and refineries.
- Represent Whitecap by actively engaging in industry committees, forums, and events to stay informed and influence relevant industry developments.
- Demonstrate strong multitasking skills by providing coverage and support to other scheduling team members as needed.
- Be available on-call 24/7 during scheduled duty periods to respond to emergencies and provide guidance or instructions promptly.- 5+ years of experience in pipeline logistics or scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of Crude Oil and NGL logistics combined with in-depth knowledge of pipeline operations
- Post-secondary education Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with attention to details
- Self-starter with a curious mindset and motivation to support the Marketing team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Egistix, Production Management, Petrotranz, Swiftlink, Tableau and Data Analytics is an asset
