Cost Accountant

Bonnell Aluminum seeks a results-oriented and highly organized Cost Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Controller, the cost accountant will play a key role in cost accounting management and oversight by preparing accurate and timely financial reports and assisting with various cost accounting tasks.

This hands-on position offers exposure to many aspects of plant operations and the opportunity to work closely with Plant leadership. Demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills is crucial in this role.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Cost Accounting and Analysis:

- Prepare accurate and timely costing reports and statements.

- Reconcile assigned asset and liability accounts in a timely manner.

- Develop solutions to resolve and improve costing activities.

- Contribute and engage actively in the financial close process.

- Independently compile and analyze financial information to analyze cost data.

- Ensure transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed.

- Cost of goods sold reporting and analysis; cost variance analysis (scrap, rework, etc.).

- Work closely with Purchasing and Manufacturing to ensure proper costing procedures.

- Provide reports and analysis with a focus on cost improvement measures.

- Maintain material cost reporting (metal roll forward).

- Standard machine/press costing.

Other:

- Support the Plant Manager and Plant Controller in the Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting processes.

- Ensure validity and accuracy of financial data.

- Participate in and lead Costing duties for an Oracle ERP software implementation project.

What You'll Need to Have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

- At least 3 years’ manufacturing accounting experience.

- At least 3 years of experience with standard costing.

- Proven MS Excel data analysis ability to support and drive business decisions.

- Creativity and ability to implement changes.

- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral.

- Demonstrates a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

- Excellent organizational skills

- Experience with Oracle or other ERP system

- Experience with an ERP system implementation
