Responsible for monitoring and maintaining corrosion control program including installation and maintenance of cathodic protection systems, internal corrosion controls, and protective coatings for new construction pipelines and facilities as well as analyzing existing assets for proper corrosion control to support ongoing operations and maintenance. Apply corrosion theories, principles and practices that ensure safe, compliant, reliable and economical midstream facilities. At higher levels within this classification, incumbents are expected to provide corrosion technical expertise, leadership and apply intensive and diversified knowledge of corrosion principles and practices to major projects, as needed. The role represents a progression-level position in the corrosion series from the developmental level to technical experts that are able to perform difficult and complex work requiring thorough knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within functional assignment area.
NOTE: Position will be filled at a level commensurate with qualifications and experience.
· Provide corrosion design and construction support to midstream project teams from planning and design phase through construction and closing phases of new pipeline and facility projects.
· Provide corrosion technical expertise and assessments of corrosion problems on various midstream and production assets in support of midstream and production operations.
· Review and implement corrosion concept/design drawings, permit applications, bids and contracts for major capital projects. Prepare cost estimates, purchase requisitions and bids for corrosion materials and fabrications.
· Prepare and administer corrosion design and construction bids, agreements. Provide oversight of outside consultants or contractors and ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
· Assist in developing and maintaining corrosion design, engineering & technical standards, SOP’s and O&M manuals. Develop and maintain corrosion specifications for Company approved materials and equipment.
· Assist in establishing and maintaining compliance with Federal DOT and State pipeline safety regulations.
· Insure accurate data storage of corrosion as-built information for DOT records repository.
· Develop pipeline mapping systems and database information for corrosion design, compliance and reporting activities.
· Make recommendations for corrosion control projects based on field analysis of system integrity.
· Coordinate and interpret information and data from pipeline pigging and in-line inspections. Schedule, coordinate and perform pipeline remedial and repair work as necessary.
· Serve as a management consultant on complex corrosion problems and issues.
· Verify all contractors are properly hazard trained, perform hazard training and conduct safety meetings as necessary.
· Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with all levels of company, contractor and vendor personnel.

· Ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings and technical manuals.
· Knowledge of natural gas industry pipe, fitting, valve and related material specifications and standards.

· Strong personal computer skills and knowledge of gas piping, mapping and CAD related software and systems.
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to drive safely off-road in adverse conditions.
· May require travel & short-term assignment to other operating areas.
· 5 - 7 years of direct related work experience in corrosion field including pipeline design, engineering, construction and field operations in the natural gas industry.
· Knowledge of applicable federal and state pipeline safety regulations and related codes/standards (i.e.: DOT, NACE (AMPP), API, ANSI and OSHA).
· Ability to manage and supervise projects and make independent decisions.
