About the role:
Reporting to the Lead, Pension & Retiree Benefits, the Coordinator, Pension & Retiree Benefits is part of the Total Rewards team and is responsible for supporting the Company’s pension plans and post-retirement benefit plans. This role requires strong communication skills as the successful candidate will be the primary contact for member inquiries.
In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Respond to e-mails or phone calls from members regarding our pension or post-retirement benefit plans
- Support the calculation of pension entitlements and administration of the Company’s defined benefit pension plans
- Understand and support the administration of post-retirement benefit plans
- Support pension membership data integrity, including conducting pensioner audits
- Process insurance claims for deceased retirees including being the primary contact for the survivor or executor on other related benefits
- Assist with the completion of regulatory filings for all registered pension plans
- Coordinate financial educations seminars through third party service providers
- Support other administrative functions such as payment of vendor invoices
- Participate in ad hoc projects and other duties as required
- At least 2 years of experience in pension and/or employee benefit administration is preferred
- Highly organized, detail oriented and a self-starter
- Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Advanced Word and Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Relevant bachelor's degree
- CEBS designation is an asset

Salary:
$62,800 / year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
