Controls Technician

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Grade 12

- Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Engineering

- Knowledge of the Aluminum Extrusion would be an asset

- 2-5 years’ experience

- Licensed Journeyman with controls experience

- Experience with RSLinx

- Experience with 24V, 120V and 600V control

- Experience with RSView Studio would be an asset

- Experience RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000

SKILL REQUIREMENT

- Complete knowledge of electronic controllers

- Computer programming

- Experience RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000

- Ability to communicate effectively

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reads and interprets drawings in electrical code specifications to determine wiring lay outs for new or existing equipment

- Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of systems following installation, replacement or repair

- Trouble shoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic control systems and remove, repair or replace faulty components

- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep records

- Calibrate electronic devises and measuring equipment

- Assist millwrights in the repairing of production and related equipment

- General knowledge of hydraulics systems for troubleshooting.

- Work off shifts as required based on project work or emergency situations

- Follow all safety, health and housekeeping policies as establish by the Company

Be responsible for safety performance in the assigned areas:

- Take action to correct substandard acts or conditions.

- Observe and monitor employee safety,

- Ensure the standards of Sections 25, 26 & 27 of the OHSA are met.

- Use safety processes in all work and according to Dajcor Health & Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping Policies.

- Perform any other duties that may be specifically or generally assigned.

Pay: $25.94-$39.81 per hour
