SUMMARY: Controls Engineers are responsible for the design, develop and implementation of Instrumentation and Controls Systems for Gas Turbine Packages and EPC Projects. Controls Engineers are responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle including development, hardware specification, system integration, field installation & start up, design improvements, maintenance and support. All products and designs must comply with industry codes and standards.
- Develop and maintain control system software (PLC, HMI and Device Settings)
- Produce design drawings including schematics, specifying parts, and creating Bills of Material for Gas Turbine Packages and EPC Projects
- Design and perform calculations for equipment selection, panel design
- Perform evaluations and maintenance of existing equipment and systems.
- Participate in engineering processes, and implement lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Support personnel during assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment in the shop and in the field.
- Interact with Clients and Contractors to communicate and achieve project design requirements.
- Write project specifications and equipment/instrumentation datasheets.
- Review and approve vendor-submitted material, drawings, manuals, etc.
- Participate in design improvement efforts to reduce cost and increase performance.
- Provide technical support for sales/commercial teams.
- Ensure products are designed and maintained in compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Actively work with other staff to perform different tasks while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management as required to meet the project goals and objectives.
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering (or related degree), or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably with a gas turbine OEM.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of industry standards
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of gas turbine packaging, rotating equipment, EPC/BOP design.
- Demonstrate basic ability in control systems (Delta V, Siemens, Allen Bradley)
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
