Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization's goals. This role requires a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and proficiency in accounting software.
Duties
•Oversees the activities of the accounting/finance department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
•Oversees the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee and contractor expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance. Reviews and gives final authorization on all disbursements.
•Oversees the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc. Assesses and make final decisions on customer and accounts receivable credit risks.
•Oversees the verification of all balance sheet accounts including the proper recording and tracking of all fixed assets, the reconciliation of all accrued liabilities and reconciliation of prepaid expense accounts, and verification of inventory balances.
•Supervises the Accounting Manager and Travel Coordinator positions; sets annual development goals for each and provides guidance as needed.
•Creates and develops annual P&L Budget, CapEx Budget, Personnel Budget, and Balance Sheet Budget twice annually and submits information via parent company reporting templates in accordance with set deadlines.
•Develops an annual budget by month by business unit and work with business units leads to help attain budget goals. Analyzes and reports monthly results vs budget to division leads and discuss differences and ongoing targets.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
•Proven experience in public accounting or as a Controller in a corporate environment.
•Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
•Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
•Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and reconciliation effectively.
•Strong communication skills to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
•Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Ensures that company financial records are transacted and maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance.
