Expert Geophysics is a fast-growing airborne geophysical survey company committed to innovation, excellence and continuous improvement. We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure strong fiscal management across our organization.
Job Duties:
Financial Management, Planning and Reporting
•Oversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, GL), ensuring timely reconciliations and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
•Prepare consolidated quarterly financial reports, job costing analysis, weekly AR, WIP summaries and payroll journal entries
•Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including contracts, expenses, and receipts.
Payroll Administration
•Act as a secondary support for payroll submission (semi-monthly)
•Ensure all payroll remittances (source deductions, EHT, WSIB) are processed as per government requirements/deadlines
•Prepare and file annual reconciliation returns (EHT, WSIB)
Budgeting & Cash Flow
•Monitor cash flow, manage payments in multiple currencies, and review banking transactions daily
•Analyze expenditures and recommend cost-saving strategies
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
•Establish and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and SOPs
•Identify and implement process improvements and leverage technology to streamline accounting and reporting
Professional Relations & Collections
•Act as primary contact with external accountants and support client invoicing and collections
•Resolve billing disputes while maintaining strong customer relationships
Special Projects
•Lead initiatives to centralize purchasing, improve asset tracking, and revise inventory costing in collaboration with operations
Qualifications
•University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (or in progress).
•5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll regulations, and multi-currency transactions.
•Experience with accounting software and reporting tools.
•Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
