Job Description
We're seeking a hands-on Contract Engineer to assist with the development and construction of test stands, provide daily engineering support, and supervise intern activities. This role requires strong practical engineering skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop practical engineering solutions, and contribute to the professional growth of emerging engineers through mentorship. Experience with high voltage required.
Key Responsibilities
•Design, build, and maintain high voltage test stands for product evaluation and performance testing
•Support daily engineering activities including troubleshooting, testing, and documentation
•Manage and mentor engineering interns, providing guidance on projects and professional development
•Execute test protocols and analyze results, preparing comprehensive reports
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges
•Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
•2+ years of hands-on experience building test stands or similar engineering systems
•Proficiency in electrical testing equipment, data acquisition systems, and test procedures
•Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and components
•Experience mentoring junior engineers or interns
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with automated test equipment and programming (LabVIEW, Python, etc.)
•Knowledge of sensor integration and signal processing
•Familiarity with mechanical design and fabrication techniques
•Project management experience
•Strong documentation skills and experience with engineering change processes
Work Environment
•Primarily on-site in laboratory and workshop settings
•Contract position with possibility of extension based on project needs (3-6 month contract)
