This position is responsible for constructing distribution and transmission substations for EKPC in a timely and safe manner according to specifications.
- Performs manual labor related to the preparation of site for substation construction.
- Provides assistance with construction of substation structure.
- Installs substation equipment and attachments.
- Operates crew trucks, construction equipment, and power hand tools.
- Provides assistance as directed during scheduled and emergency outages.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Formal technical training associated with the construction and operation of transmission substations equivalent of two (2) years preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience associated with the construction and operation of transmission substations preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience. Experience working in a leadership capacity preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints required.
- Must be able to properly and safely operate crew vehicles, equipment, and various power hand tools.
- Knowledge of switching procedures for energized substations preferred.

- Regular climbing and working at heights on ladders and stairs and occasional climbing and working at heights on structures required.
