Industry-leading energy and general contractor, Top Form Industrial, Inc., TFI, founded in 2006, specializes in back-up power, including generators, fuel cells, and battery energy storage systems, as well as primary meter conversions and switchgear replacement. As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee field operations for projects involving the installation of electrical systems for large generators and power grid equipment. The role will focus heavily on site preparation, including excavation for electrical and mechanical infrastructure, concrete pour back, and equipment pad construction. The superintendent will ensure that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
- Oversee all field construction activities, with emphasis on site layout and earthwork (grading, trenching, and backfilling), concrete work (excavation, formwork, rebar, heavy pours, equipment pads, and concrete cutting), and generator and fuel cell installation support (setting equipment, coordinating electrical and mechanical connections).
- Manage daily site operations, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Enforce compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate scheduling of manpower, materials, equipment, and inspections.
- Conduct site layout checks, verify elevations, and oversee quality control of civil and concrete work.
- Maintain open communication with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ensure site safety by leading toolbox talks, enforcing company policies, and monitoring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Track progress, document work activities, and provide daily/weekly reports.
- Identify potential issues, resolve conflicts, and proactively recommend solutions.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a superintendent or field supervisor role.
- Strong background in concrete construction, site work, and equipment foundations.
- Experience with electrical/mechanical support scopes (generators, switchgear, fuel cells, or similar industrial equipment).
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site surveys.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices (OSHA 30 preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate multi-trade activities.
- Computer literacy with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar) preferred.
- Field-based role requiring full-time presence on active construction sites across multiple states.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to manage heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as required to meet project schedules.
