POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Quality Control Manager monitors all quality activities for this project and ensures compliance with Alpha Development’s Quality Control and Assurance Manual (QC/A). Participates in design phase activities, document reviews of manufacturer’s requirements and best practices. Understands design documents and performs pre-mobilization meetings, first work in place preparatory meetings, and periodic onsite observations to ensure compliance with the design documents, submittals, manufacturer’s requirements, and best practices.


POSITION DUTIES

Develops Quality Control Plan for this project.
Leads project Preconstruction phase.
Conducts design quality meetings.
Initiates/manages submittal registers and project plans, utilizing the appropriate software when applicable including USACE RMS.
Writes/oversees the submission of the project’s Quality Control Plan (QCP).
Ensures design reviews are completed and signed off at the prescribed milestones.
Ensures quality risks and mitigation plans are established/ documented.
Completes final document review and submits design for this project.
Participates in the selection and evaluation of independent testing agencies to support project construction phase.
Supports project Construction phase.
Regularly visit field construction sites to review project status, assure quality construction, and review safety practices.
Reviews current submittal register, quality control documents, and reports for completeness and addresses any issues with onsite CQC.
Communicates to the company executive team potential inconsistencies, deficiencies, errors, omissions, and conditions that may expose the company to liability expenses.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate engineer, graduate architect, or a graduate of construction management.
At least 5 years construction experience as a Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager.
Must have at least 2 years experience as a QC Manager.
Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
Extensive experience preparing submittal documents specifically on U.S. Government projects.


REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & OTHER

Proficient use in U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Resident Management System (RMS) to record, maintain, input, track, and electronically share information with the Government throughout the project period.
Ability to read and effectively interpret building construction documentation and associated reports.
Ability to maintain inspection report of construction progress.
Ability to interface with client’s Quality personnel and provide direction to ensure compliance with testing, inspection procedures, and results to on site Quality Control inspectors.
Strong interpersonal/communication skills to effectively work with others.
Strong organizational skills to handle/ prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including basic formatting to generate reports, build/maintain spreadsheets to track reporting, and scheduling meetings.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, CLEARANCES AND REGISTRATIONS

Must be a US Citizen.
Must have a current driver’s license at the time of employment. Valid driver’s license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain US Government security check clearance for access to military and other sensitive US Government facilities and bases.
Must have successfully completed USACE CQM and OSHA 30-hour Construction safety course.
