The Construction Manager (CM) is DB Power Solution’s full-time, on-site representative responsible for managing the performance of the EPC contractor building utility-scale renewable energy projects. As the only DB Power Solution’s personnel stationed continuously at the site, the CM plays a critical role in maintaining DB Power Solution’s field presence and ensuring work is executed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The CM enforces DB Power Solution’s project priorities in this order: Safety first, Quality second, and Production third. The CM reports to the Senior Construction Manager and supports the broader Construction and Project Delivery teams with accurate field insight and documentation.
- Serve as DB Power Solution’s eyes and ears on-site, managing all field-level aspects of project execution by the EPC contractor.
- Reinforce and uphold a job site culture centered on Safety, Quality, and Production, in that priority order.
- Attend and actively participate in the EPC contractor’s daily POD meetings, weekly progress meetings, task preparatory meetings, and monthly construction meetings.
- Monitor contractor activities throughout the day; inspect installed work daily to confirm compliance with project drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Attend first builds of each major scope item, ensuring contractor alignment before full-scale production; document observations and escalate concerns or RFIs as needed.
- Identify and track any nonconforming work, and verify corrective actions are implemented.
- Exercise stop work authority when work poses a risk to personnel safety or violates quality expectations.
- Evaluate and vet contractor change orders in coordination with the Senior CM and Project Delivery Lead (PDL) to ensure legitimacy, cost accuracy, and contractual alignment.

Prepare and submit a weekly report rolling up daily activities and including:
- Verification and intake of EPC-reported quantities installed and delivered
- Summary of safety incidents reported on-site
- Upcoming construction activity start dates
- Weekly summary of first builds attended, associated RFIs, and outstanding concerns
- Input required reporting into DB Power Solution’s construction dashboard system, in coordination with the Hyd team
- Identify, document, and escalate construction challenges to the Senior Construction Manager and PDL in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Senior CM to support resolution of field issues, commercial questions, or potential change orders.
- Collaborate with the Senior CM on monthly invoice review and reconciliation, verifying installation status and deliverables.
- Coordinate and support monthly Independent Engineer (IE) visits, bi-weekly visits from the PDL, and periodic upper management visits to ensure readiness and transparency.
- Drive the mechanical completion owner walk process, ensuring thorough inspection of systems and identifying punch list items.
- Support commissioning preparation, final quality verifications, and site closeout documentation.- 7+ years of experience in utility-scale solar, wind, or energy storage construction
- Proven experience overseeing EPC contractor work in a field-based setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical and civil construction practices, drawings, and QA/QC standards
- Familiarity with AHJ permitting and inspections (preferred)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills in field environments
- Competency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools; photo documentation required
- OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain before mobilization)
- Travel and Site Commitment: Must reside near the project site during construction; monthly home visits permitted (Friday–Monday)
