Job Description

The Construction Laborer is responsible for performing physical labor tasks at construction sites while adhering to company and industry safety regulations and operational procedures. OSHA-10 certification required. This position is subject to the Davis-Bacon Wage Act.

Responsibilities

•

Follow directions from the Superintendent for daily tasks.

•

Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies for daily assignments, setting up worksite traffic and safety controls, and properly securing the work area.

•

Perform tasks including drywall installation, demolition, painting, tiling, carpentry, and general labor.

•

Clean and maintain the worksite at the end of each workday.

•

Properly clean and maintain all assigned company equipment.

•

Perform physical labor throughout the entire assigned work shift.

•

Report safety concerns and incidents to the on-site Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) in accordance with proper procedures.

Skills

•

When required, and if properly licensed and authorized, operate construction equipment on the job site to complete daily tasks.

•

Knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy and highway construction.

•

Basic knowledge of first aid and relevant safety precautions.

•

Ability to work independently and complete daily tasks according to the work schedule.

•

Strong oral and written communication skills.

•

Consistent and dependable attendance, with the ability to meet the scheduled work hours.

•

Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in various outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

•

Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.

Job Type: Short-Term, based on project needs.

Schedule

•

8-hour shifts (with the possibility of 10-hour shifts).

•

Monday to Friday (with potential for weekend work).

•

Weekly schedule may vary; some weeks may not offer a full 40 hours of work.

Education & Certifications

•

High School diploma or equivalent.

•

OSHA 10 certification in Construction (Required).

•

First Aid/CPR certification (Preferred).

Experience

•

At least 1+ year of construction experience (Required).

•

Experience with federal construction projects (Preferred).

Physical Requirements

•

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and perform strenuous physical labor in adverse field conditions.

•

Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 80 lbs (±), and use abdominal and lower back muscles for support over time without fatigue. Ability to effectively jump, sprint, or throw objects as needed.

•

Ability to work in various weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, dust, and wind.
