Job Title Quality Control Technician
Reports to Quality Control Supervisor
General Description
Conduct pre-pour and post-pour examination of precast and prestressed concrete to assure product conforms to specifications. Perform other quality-related activities as directed by the QC Manager.
Responsibilities
•Verify product meets specification through pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
•Oversee tensioning (prestressing) of steel cable to ensure compliance with design specifications.
•Manage temperature probes and curing software used for monitoring the concrete curing process.
•Manage the product inventory and product status in company software (Concrete Vision).
•Take concrete samples in accordance with ACI Material testing requirements.
•Build, control and break cylinders for release strength, final strength, and project-specific requirements.
•Perform additional ACI tests as prescribed by Quality Control Supervisor. These may include Sieve Analysis, Spread Test, Slump Test, etc.
•Comply with all OSHA and company-specific safety policies and procedures.
•Conduct tasks in a professional manner and maintain the integrity of the quality control process.
•Maintain quality control laboratory and equipment with a focus on cleanliness and proper functionality.
•Work productively with the other plant departments (Production, Maintenance, Management, etc.) to meet the common goals of the organization.
Performance requirements
•One year of experience in a prestress/precast environment preferred
•Must be able to read and understand production drawings
•Must maintain clear and precise record-keeping
•Knowledge of OSHA standards
•Good communication and interpersonal skills
•ACI Level 1 or the ability to obtain within 6 months
•PCI Level 1 and Level 2 a plus
•Exerting up to 50 pounds of force rarely
•Lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, lift up to 10 pounds frequently
•Work will be conducted in an office and plant environment
•Will be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
