Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Concrete Operator I entail adhering to established protocols to execute various manual tasks to produce concrete pads and products. Concrete Operator II must work within production standards for volume, cost, scrap targets, and quality standards. This position operates all necessary machinery, tools, and equipment essential for executing production duties in a secure and compliant fashion. The incumbent will oversee output quality to detect, eliminate, or reprocess defective items. The specific functions performed at this level may include mix operator, clamp and stack operator, expeditor, pad stacker, foam router operator, auto-tuck and fold operator, cure belt operator, and wire operator. Furthermore, responsibilities may extend to the collection and disposal of refuse and production waste in accordance with the organization's waste disposal guidelines.
Essential Duties
•Executes mixer operator responsibilities, including the preparation of concrete mixes tailored to meet line specifications such as ensuring the correct ratio and measurement of ingredients in the concrete mix.
•Performs mold preparation tasks, including thoroughly coating molds with mold release, securing foam with pins, and inserting rebars as required.
•Extracts the concrete pads from the mold by utilizing vacuum cups to lift them out and transfer them to the conveyor line. Subsequently, the pads are flipped on the belt before being stacked on a pallet using a second set of vacuum cups.
•Ensures each stack contains the accurate quantity and conducts quality control on pads by removing defective ones from the production line to prevent further processing or rectifying minor hairline cracks or imperfections by scraping, filling, and smoothing them to achieve a flawless surface.
•Ensures a tidy finish through troweling, affixes labels, and wrap the finalized products for inventory management.
•Utilizes machinery to accurately cut foam to the desired specifications.
•Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area, ensuring no safety hazards exist.
•Conducts quality control assessments at the conclusion of the production line to confirm the foam’s height is appropriate, ensures an adequate amount of mud is present in the pad, verifies readiness for stacking, and operates both the stacker and the strike off table.
•Receives the foam required for padding, conducts inventory checks, ensures line operators have the correct foam size for the pads in production, and delivers wires to operators.
•Operates the machine responsible for encasing fabric around the EPS.
•Arranges the appropriate pallets required for the specific type of pads in production. Verifies the suitable dunnage foam for both pallet and pad, ensuring the correct size aligns with the pads utilized during the production process.
•Inspects all pads as they are loaded into the cure wrap for overnight curing.
•Utilizes the sophisticated Cladite machinery to precisely cut, bend, and spot-weld wires as needed to ensure proper bending. It is imperative to accurately cut wires of various sizes.
•Performs all responsibilities of a Concrete Operator I as needed.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
Required
•1 – 2 years of experience as a Concrete Operator I at Diversitech or 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment
•Experience in measuring ingredients, wires, and other items accurately, as well as cutting them into precise measurements
•Strong mechanical aptitude with experience operating machinery
•Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
•Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
•Independent thinker and the ability to make reasonable decisions.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
