- Plan, coordinate, and perform the commissioning of substation protection, control, and power circuits.
- Develop outage, energization, and commissioning plans.
- Review relay settings, support asset management, and troubleshoot protection and control systems alongside experienced field crews.
- Dive into design reviews, prepare specs, estimate costs, and play a role in equipment purchasing decisions.
- Participate in project meetings, help improve department documentation, and stay current on industry standards and innovations.
- Communicate technical info clearly-whether in reports, manuals, or casual conversations with your teammates
Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have?
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Some direct utility or general engineering experience is a plus but not required
- Registration as a Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain one within four years, is preferred (A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of PE registration.)
- Valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards (IEEE, RUS, NESC, NEC)
- The ability to work collaboratively with others and develop positive working relationships
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and computer technology
