The Financial Analysis (FA) Professional is an experienced financial analyst with a proven ability to develop financial
evaluation tools that are aligned with BC Hydro’s key priorities and to utilize forward thinking to provide feedback in support
of strategic business decisions across the company.
The Commercial Negotiations and Financial Analysis (CNFA) team, within the Finance, Technology and Supply Chain
business group, is responsible for developing and applying advanced analytical tools for evaluating strategic contracts and
capital projects and for managing large, complex, transactions across BC Hydro. The CNFA group also supports broader
Treasury functions by developing advanced financial analytics tools (such as Monte Carlo analysis) to inform debt
management strategy (including future debt hedging) or financial/credit risk analysis. This group is centrally located in the
Finance corporate group, to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables across the organization by ensuring strict
adherence to documentation sequence for governance requirements/approvals and developing and maintaining associated
processes and tools.
The FA professional is responsible for collaborating with professionals in groups such as Project Delivery, Integrated
Planning, Engineering, Finance, Customer Service and Regulatory as business partners and clients for core work, and to
prepare financial models that highlight trade-offs and document risks to support the advancement of key initiatives and
strategies. The FA professional also works closely with other CNFA and Treasury staff to continuously improve evaluation
processes in the two groups and applies and encourages others to improve analytics and provide feedback on other CNFA
support initiatives.
