Guzman Energy is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Commercial Analyst to support our commercial team in advancing strategic growth initiatives, optimizing commercial operations, and delivering actionable market intelligence. This individual will play a key role in analyzing market trends, evaluating commercial performance, and supporting cross-functional initiatives that align with Guzman Energy’s mission to transform energy across the West.

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Structuring, and supporting the entire commercial team with extensive cross functional interactions and strong project management role.
Base Compensation:
base salary ranging from $75,000- 85,000 per year and an annual targeted performance bonus.
• Conduct research and develop insights on regional energy markets, customer segments, and competitor activity, with emphasis on Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, and other regions as needed
• Track energy pricing trends, regulatory developments, and capacity planning to inform origination and procurement decisions
• Prepare data-driven briefings and visualizations to support commercial strategy development
• Support the origination team with commercial proposals, financial models, customer segmentation, and contract evaluations
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Origination, Supply, Risk, and operations) to help structure deals that align with Guzman’s platform and risk appetite
• Maintain customer tracking tools, pricing databases, and performance dashboards
• Provide analytical and project management support for commercial initiatives in new and existing markets (e.g., municipal utilities, tribal communities, data centers)
• Develop tracking tools and KPIs to monitor progress of growth initiatives and help the VP of Commercial drive accountability across teams
• Assist in preparation of presentations and reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Environmental Science, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in an analytical, strategy, or business support role (energy sector or adjacent industries preferred)
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable outputs

Market Knowledge:Familiarity with wholesale power markets, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and regional energy trends, particularly in the Mountain West (Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, and other regions as needed).

Financial & Analytical Skills:Proficiency in financial modeling techniques (e.g., NPV, IRR, cash flow analysis) and commercial performance evaluation.

Tool Proficiency:Experience using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to create dashboards, visualizations, and decision-support models.

CRM & Data Systems:Working knowledge of CRM platforms like Salesforce and the ability to manage customer and pipeline data effectively.

Communication & Presentation:Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.

Execution Focus:Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute to cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.
