Position Summary
The Commercial Account Manager sells, promotes, and markets natural gas services to commercial builders, developers, and business owners in order to maximize company sales revenue and market presence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sells to prospective customers to promote the benefits of natural gas over competitive fuels; maximizes the use of natural gas in new and existing commercial buildings within ETG’s geographic territory.
- Obtains customer requests for commercial gas projects; gathers information necessary to start sales process for project; enters and maintains information into Salesforce for the next phase.
- Assists existing customers with increasing natural gas usage with the addition of new gas fired equipment.
- Provides monthly tracking reports to New Business Services management for compilation into a monthly departmental report.
- Attends monthly sales meetings and participates in weekly Sales Team Meetings.
- Attends Trade Association and Chamber of Commerce events as needed. Builds and maintains working relationships with builders and developers, architects and engineers and other influencer groups.
- Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction by responding to customer needs, keeping customers informed and ensuring work is scheduled in an effective manner for the mutual benefit of customer and company
- Promote the use of natural gas by communicating the benefits to the Company's existing and potential clients
- Coordinate the many activities necessary to bring customers online, including the frequently conflicting schedules of construction, operations, contractors and municipalities
- Represent the Company at meetings by communicating Company policy, procedure and other information relative to the gas industry
- Perform other reasonable essential functions as assigned
- Perform Salesforce tasks: gas load calculations, rough proposal drawings, cost estimating, etc.
- Review and obtain contracts and customer contributions and notify internal contacts
- Process gas-availability requests (Will Serve Requests)
- Contact/meet with customer as necessary, including discussions regarding ETG’s process and timeframes
- Using mobile GIS and other applications in prospecting activities
- Coordinate between customer and ETG Assets regarding next steps and responsibilities between the company and customer
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Uses consultative selling skills and problem-solving skills to partner with customer to determine the best energy solution for each individual application.
- Meets or exceeds territory and/or customer goals.
