- Applies liquid paint to product surfaces in accordance with customer specifications using various types of paints
- Performs color changes based on production schedule. This includes cleaning out paint guns, fluid lines, and cleaning the pumps.
- Scissors lift certification
- Performs washer titration to maintain proper chemical levels
- Visual inspection of painted parts, checking for coverage and film thickness
- Operates equipment including, but not limited to paint guns, automatic paint bells, paint pumps, filters/strainers, and cup guns as necessary
- Responsible for conducting all operations and duties of Bell Operator, Laboratory Technician, Line Operator, Chemical Operator, and Material ID/Quality Assurance.
- Fluent in Anodizing computer software systems (CFS, Epicor, etc.).
- Prepares unloaders for what material is anticipated based off the production schedule.
- Print labels for parts and attach it to the material once unloaded indicating the part identification number and the number of pieces.
- Identify short counts and email customer service, Racking Lead and Unloading Lead, so they can research the discrepancy.
- Review and audit hours in Epicor, including time, and materials.
- Ensure that rework is correctly identified and logged into CFS.
- Reporting any deviation to the Manager/Supervisor as soon as deviation is discovered.
- Is supportive of employee and company objectives while always maintaining an objective viewpoint.
- Check valves for proper operations of filter and any associated equipment including air valves and air lines.
- Back up the Chemical Operator in the waste water treatment area to ensure operations are functioning efficiently.
- Knowledge in operating material handling equipment.
- Understand principles of anodizing theory
- Understand operation and control of the waste pretreatment area
- Have an understanding and daily knowledge of tank parameters
- Communicates with employees in work unit to ensure pretreatment specifications are understood and biproducts are produce based on federal, state and company standard.
- Ability to run the production line in manual or automatic mode.
- Monitors line to ensure proper operation. May need to stop and restart line as needed.
- Understands CFS programs including Build-A-Bar.
- Shows ability to verify anodize process perimeters (recipes)
- Shows command on rectifier control, being able to adjust programs, to include adding recipes, manipulate voltage, current, current density, ramp, DC pretreatment etc.…
- Drains, cleans, and fills various tanks based on a pre-determined schedule to ensure they are at proper concentration levels and are operating effectively.
- Assist with loading/offloading when necessary.
- Maintain housekeeping standards for the facility.
- Ensure the quality standards set forth by Anodize department.
- Properly wears required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Previous experience in Laboratory Technician, Line Operator, Chemical Operator, and Material ID/Quality Assurance preferred.
- Data entry accuracy and speed required. Familiar with CFS, SCADA, Epicor and other departmental programs.
- Capability to keep up in a fast paced and continuously moving production line.
- Requires good organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details is necessary
- Effectively communicate with peers and supervisors.
- Must have the ability to follow directions, give directions, read, write, and make mathematical calculations.
- Must have problem solving abilities and effectively communicate with them.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Chemistry/chemical background preferred.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform “wet analysis” and titrations proficiently
- Knowledge of chemical treatment production normally acquired through six months or more of similar work experience. Previous Anodizing experience helpful.
- Can locate, read, comprehend and execute proper work instructions.
