This is a full-time, on-site role for a CO2 Laser Engineer/Technician located in Oak Ridge, TN. The CO2 Laser Engineer/Technician will be responsible for integration, testing and maintaining different laser systems. Day-to-day tasks include integrating laser systems, laser resonator alignment, qualify laser performance, conducting experiments, maintening laser equipment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize laser performance. The role requires detailed documentation and reporting of experimental results and system performance.
- Optical Engineering and Laser skills
- Hands-on optical breadboard problem solver and prototyper
- Background in Physics and/or Optics, particularly related to laser applications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of scientists and engineers
- Associate, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Experience with CO2 or CO lasers is a plus
