Position Summary

This position will be responsible for the operation of a variety of CNC machine tools. This includes setting up and verifying tooling and setting part offsets.

Target Responsibilities

•

Knowledgeable in the use and application of precision measuring instruments. This would include calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.

•

Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

•

Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.

•

Responsible for loading parts, proving out programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple program edits, and initial inspection of parts to ensure it meets tolerances.

•

Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other team members for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

•

Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance, according to maintenance plans and established procedures.

•

May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

•

Must be at least 18 years of age.

•

Ability to operate a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.

•

Minimum of two years of experience working on the set-up of 5-axis machines, such as Hass or Fanuc preferred.

•

Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used to operate various machines.

•

Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as blueprints, safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
