Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of quality inspection processes, and the ability to work with various tools and machinery. The Laser Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production meets our high standards for quality and precision.
Responsibilities
•Operate laser cutting machines to fabricate sheet metal parts according to specifications.
•Loading material onto machine and organizing material on pallets with forklift.
•Conduct quality inspections of finished products using calipers and other measuring tools.
•Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
•Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
•Utilize basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to production processes.
•Follow all safety protocols while operating machinery.
•Interpret technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
•Assist in tooling setup and adjustments as needed for various projects.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
•Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, particularly in sheet metal fabrication.
•Experience operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery.
•Familiarity with electrical discharge machining processes is a plus.
•Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
•Knowledge of tooling setup and adjustments for laser operations.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
•Experience with calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
•Ability to operate forklift safely within a manufacturing environment.
