Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Superintendent to oversee and coordinate electrical systems on our construction projects in West Greenwich, RI. This role is critical in ensuring that electrical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in alignment with project goals, budget constraints, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
SAFETY
•Review and understand the Client's inhouse safety policies.
•Ensure the contractors are adhering to the client's safety policies and program.
•Monitor the safety manhours for each project.
CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT
•Coordinate works between contractors to ensure work is performed in the correct order and without conflicts between contractors.
•Coordinate work between contractors and client operators, maintenance, and facility personal.
•Ensure contractors are following established client SOPs in regards permits, safety, access, etc.
•Work with all parties to remove roadblocks preventing work from being accomplished and help the contractors to complete their work in a timely manner.
•Ensure the contractors maintain a clean and organized work environment
REPORTING
•Attend weekly meeting and provide update of construction activities.
•Provide schedule updates to the respective client project managers and other project stakeholders.
•Report construction status of multiple simultaneous projects to the respective client project managers.
•Act as the liaison between the contractors and the client's project team, operators, maintenance personal, and facility managers.
QUALITY
•Inspect the contractor's work to ensure it meets the expectations of the client.
•Review construction works to ensure the work meets the requirements of the specifications and design.
•At the end of a project, develop a punch list of defects that need to be rectified.
•Ensure all testing and quality documentation is performed and signed off by the contractors (e.g. pressure tests, meggar tests, continuity tests, ductwork pressure tests, etc.).
•Ensure the materials being used by the contractor meet the client's specifications for approved material.
•Ensure the contractors provide the necessary documentation for maintenance, operations, and facility managers to maintain the equipment that has been installed (e.g. O&M Manuals, Shop Drawings, Warranties, As Constructed Drawings, etc.).
RISK MANAGEMENT
•Help identify risks to the project and highlight the risks to the client PM.
•Recommend mitigation proposals to the client PM to minimize risk impact.
COST MANAGEMENT
•Review change order requests to determine if work is already in scope or is a legitimate change.
•Review submitted change orders to verity quantiles and time.
Qualifications:
•Must have experience in working in GMP environments.
•Good communication and scheduling skills.
•Must be able to read and understand Microsoft Project Schedules.
•A background in CSA or MEP.
•Experience working with cleanrooms.
•Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and other construction management software is preferred.
