The Cleaning Room Supervisor manages hourly employees on an assigned manufacturing line to ensure correct flow of product, and process completion, from a rough steel casting to a finished product. Individual reports to the Cleaning Room Superintendent.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Schedules specific production activities based on superintendent's goal, available castings from previous stage, casting requirements and resource availability.
- Coordinates with heat treat, machining and shipping to schedule processing and shipping times and dates.
- Tracks castings to ensure proper processing.
- Ensures necessary supplies are on hand.
- Monitors equipment status and reports any problems to Maintenance or Engineering.
- Other duties may be assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least one year related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Basic knowledge of computers and mathematics required.
The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles, and is occasionally exposed to chemicals. The employee occasionally works outdoors, and also experiences non-weather conditions such as extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration, and exposure to water and humidity. The usual noise level is very loud. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
