Job Duties:
•Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes, and ensure that all aspects of the project are considered in the bid.
•Be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
•Conduct site visits for accurate cost estimation.
•Assemble and submit detailed bid packages timely and properly.
•Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review and refine estimates, manage bids, and support contract negotiations.
•Maintain and update a database of unit costs and production rates.
•Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore alternative construction methods and materials.
•Correspond professionally and timely with clients, project managers, engineers, and others via email, phone, and in-person
Qualifications
•Experience with estimating for civil projects
•Proficiency in preparing bids, cost estimates and analyzing project specifications
•Experience and expertise in estimating and construction management software.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
•Experience in evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes
•Strong collaboration skills with project managers and engineers
•Excellent analytical and detail-oriented skills
•Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
Work Environment: This role combines office-based estimating with occasional travel to job site.
Compensation: Starting at $80,000/year. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health insurance available.
