Under general direction, perform complex, advanced civil engineering work.
Additional Responsibilities:May oversee engineering team on projects; in absence of supervisor, may oversee subordinates; may perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisors.
Training and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering; AND a minimum of four years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering; comprehensive knowledge of District regulations and procedures applicable to sewer construction; problem-solving and communication skills necessary to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and MSD staff to ensure the successful completion of these projects; considerable knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and design software; basic knowledge in accounting; extensive skill in reading and interpreting complex engineering plans and specifications; exceptional skill in maintaining records and preparing technical reports; thorough skill in analyzing and integrating data; considerable skill in communicating effectively both in oral and written form; exceptional ability in forming and maintaining effective working relationships.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, or ability to obtain the Missouri Professional Engineering License within 6 months of hire.
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
