This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary.
Essential Functions: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to understand and follow the Company's operating procedures and safety policies.
- Must take and be able to understand instructions from the field superintendent.
- Must perform tasks in a safe and quality manner.
- Must accept responsibility delegated by the superintendent for company property and equipment; Must maintain and operate that equipment in a clean, safe and mechanically sound condition.
- Must accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork which may include, but not be limited to: time sheets, maintenance records, travel logs, DOT paperwork, ISO documentation, etc.
- Must possess a positive attitude and be able to work with a field team.
- Must understand and speak fluent English.
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions in the performance of the required tasks in conformance with the Company's policies and procedures.
- Must possess a CDL; Must also possess a driving record consistent with the Company's requirements.
- Must maintain required certifications
- Safety certifications may include Confined Space, Competent Person, 10 and/or 30 OSHA, those related to traffic control, as required, etc.
- Job related certifications may include PACP, etc.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and adhere to Company's policy regarding such.
- Must work in a manner that will not jeopardize the health and safety of him/herself, other employees or the general public.
- Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel and be out of town for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work with resin and chemicals associated with the installation of cured-in-place liners; A listing and MSDS are available.
- Must be able to stand much of the day and walk on uneven ground.
- Must be able to use proper lifting technique to periodically lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry it for a minimum of 50 feet; Must be able to periodically direct lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to use proper lifting technique to periodically lift 20 to 40 pounds overhead.
- Must be able to enter and exit structures (manholes, vaults, etc.) leading to underground pipelines and safely work within these confined spaces in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Company safety guidelines.
- Must be able to work in elevated situations; Must be able to ascend and descend a minimum 25' ladder.
- Must be able to bend and turn at the waist as well as squat.
- Must be able to complete a pulling action similar to pulling heavy rope from a hole in the ground.
- Must be able to walk and drag material (hose).
- Must be able to safely utilize cutting devices including hand saws and razor knives.
- Must be able to install pipe plugs on sanitary, storm and process pipelines in potentially wet environments.
- Must be able to drive a heavy truck for minimally one to two hours each day.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to lift more than 60 lbs
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills with working collaboratively with a team and working individually.
- All employees must undergo a pre-employment background check and substance screening process prior to being considered for employment.
- Must be comfortable working outside year-round in all types of weather.
- Exposure to varying levels of physical activities. Standing, crouching, walking, crawling. Capable of heavy lifting up to 50 pounds or more.
