What You’ll Do

- Knowledge and experience with AWS D1.1 and or ASME codes

- Interpret codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing requirements

- Use a computer to compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of inspections

- Recommend and approve repairs as well as perform visual inspection of work in progress and completed work

- Knowledge with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)

- Experience with maintaining WPSs and PQRs.

- Knowledge of programming and operating automated welding systems

- Verify and document welder qualifications

- Verify the compliance of base metals with the applicable specifications

- Appraise welding joint designs and joint preparations for compliance with drawing

- Verify proper fit, cleanliness, and environmental conditions

- Verify the conformity of the welds

- Verify preheat and inter-pass temperatures

- Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables

- Verify the inter-pass and final cleaning

- Assure product conformity to drawings and specifications

- Verify cleanliness and weld surface quality

- Have knowledge of other NDT Processes

- Ability to support the training of welders.

- Confirm adequate documentation of fabrication and inspection activities

- Assist in the training and development of other teammates

- Interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings to production, engineering, and management teams

Additional Expectations

- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.

- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.

- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.

- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring

- High school diploma or GED

- Previous fitting and welding experience is required

- 5-10 years experience with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)

- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings

- Must be able to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and some trigonometry

- Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
