Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to manage financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. Ideally the candidate will have experience in Oil & Gas or at minimum a basic understanding. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate financial management.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger accounting.
- Oversee tax preparation and compliance for various entities.
- Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting support to management.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and O&G Production Accounting platforms.
- Prepare regulatory reports in accordance with governmental accounting standards.
- Assist in cash flow analysis and financial report interpretation for strategic decision-making.
Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Experience with O&G Production Accounting, Oilfield Service Accounting and Oil & Gas tax laws.
- Experience with corporate finance and private equity transactions.
- Familiarity with wills, trusts & estate law as well as securities law is preferred.
- Excellent financial report writing skills with the ability to interpret complex data effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Solid understanding of auditing practices and financial services operations.
- Ability to perform account analysis, payroll processing, and budget management efficiently.
