Position Summary The Experienced Mobile Mechanic makes repairs to all mobile equipment in plant and quarry including skid steer loaders, forklifts, pickups, welders, trucks, all heavy equipment, diesel and gasoline engines.

Essential Functions* Accurately and promptly diagnose specific problems on mobile equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Ability and skills to diagnose and repair mobile equipment including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, clutches, drivelines, electrical and hydraulic systems, heating and air conditioning systems, power takeoffs, brakes, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience* High School Diploma or Equivalent GED required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Ability and initiative to make sound decisions

Physical Requirements* Work requires the ability to sit, stand, stoop, walk, long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours)

Working Conditions

Works in all weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, rain and in high humidity and is required to work in all plant environments. Incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights. . May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS’s)
