ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs record keeping essentials according to State, Federal and DOT regulations.
- Maintains tractor by cleaning interior and exterior surfaces.
- Performs routine functions normally done by tractor trailer operators.
- Drives rig to and from Mercury facilities and their customers.
- Assists in loading and unloading of product.
- Maintains a positive attitude when dealing with customer.
- Occasionally asked to perform rework or auxiliary operations at a customer or supplier site.
- Performs miscellaneous errands such as picking up and delivering products with pickup, van or other means of transportation.
- Makes overnight drives and extended trips requiring irregular hours.
- Makes minor repairs or adjustments such as fixing punctures, cleaning spark plugs, or adjusting carburetor.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A CDL
- Clean Driving Record
- 2+ Years CDL Driving ExperiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The use of a respirator is required when painting.
