Carlin - Installation Specialist, Light Vehicle

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the installation and servicing of telematics hardware across a wide range of vehicles and mobile assets. You will ensure high standards of workmanship, smooth deployment of systems, and support ongoing product integration initiatives.

This position blends technical fieldwork, employee engagement, and light project coordination – ideal for someone passionate about technology and operational excellence in a fast-paced mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and maintain vehicle monitoring systems, including telematics, AI-driven dash cameras, and electronic modules.

- Provide employee support and training on telematics platforms and in-vehicle hardware.

- Serve as the on-site lead for hardware and system deployment projects.

- Create and manage work orders using fleet maintenance software (e.g., SAP, Fleet Track).

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues; coordinate with suppliers and engineering teams as needed.

- Communicate with shop supervisors, employees, and planners regarding system performance and concerns.

- Maintain compliance records to meet MSHA and company safety standards.

- Track and manage driver information to support driver behavior reporting and analysis.

- Monitor asset availability and coordinate deployment/movement across pits, sites, or departments.

- Assist with general light vehicle maintenance activities and support the broader maintenance team.

Qualifications

- 1–2 years of experience installing telematics systems, vehicle monitoring equipment, and in-vehicle electronics.

- Familiarity with fleet management and work order software (SAP, Telematics, Fleet Track, etc.).

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and digital documentation systems.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with a sharp attention to detail.

- Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance cycles and light vehicle systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).

- Knowledge of MSHA safety and compliance regulations.

- Must meet the minimum tool requirements for entry-level mechanics.
