Basic Function: The day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Adsorption, Desorption, Recovery (ADR) plant, the processing of carbon to doré.
· Ensure maintenance has been completed as scheduled.
· Complete daily inspection records and weekly ADR reports.
· Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, and pumps site wide.
· Performs work on high temperature pressure vessels, boilers, reactors and similar equipment in the refinery.
· Maintain specific temperature, pressure, levels and/or other process variables to meet production.
· Process flows, Carbon flows, and Solution flows (preg solution, barren solution). Soft water and freshwater systems.
· Process through stripping and electrowinning of carbon into doré.
· 2 years working in a Carbon Process or comparable process plant.
· Experience using various reagents used in the process. Mixing and storing procedures.
· Monitor and control PH in circuit to optimize plant efficiency.
· Demonstrate how to control the level of cyanide in circuit by titrating the solution sample and correcting any offsets and how to correct these offsets.
· Must be able to safely operate and have good knowledge of Boiler key components of the circuit: Boiler, Solution flows through the exchangers, Temperature control and Pressure.
· Proper operating temp, rate of feed and quench tank of Kiln.
· Must be comfortable working for long periods alone and graveyard shifts.
· Proven attitude towards safety regulations and goals
· Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed; respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
· Employee is occasionally required to bend and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 30-40lbs.
· Ability to work in extreme weather conditions; exposure to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
· Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
· Physically capable of sitting, standing, shoveling, climbing several flights of stairs, kneeling, bending, crouching, and performing other types of physical work.
· Must be willing to work shift work or otherwise assigned.
