Steel manufacturing firm located in the Greater Pittsburgh Area is seeking experienced candidates for the Buyer position. In this hands-on position, individuals will work in a fast paced environment and will lead day to day sourcing of raw materials required for our operations.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years direct, hands on experience with procurement/purchasing in a manufacturing environment with SBQ experience preferred. Excellent communication and organization skills are necessary to meet goals and objectives. Attention to detail and the ability to make decisions which impact strategic goals for purchasing are required.
Purchase of Goods and Services to ensure adequate supply of materials to support manufacturing requirements.
Analyze and maintain scheduling system to determine priorities and continuous improvement to on time delivery requirements.
Process Vendor Claims for defective materials in an expeditious manner.
Scheduling of outside services including purchase order preparation and expediting when required.
Communication of supply shortages to manufacturing and sales.
Cost reductions through purchasing negotiations and inventory management.
Responsible for proactively improving supplier quality and on time delivery.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or an Associate Degree with minimum of three years previous experience or minimum of 5 years work related experience.
