We are an organization with proven ability to “outsell” our manufacturing / fabrication capacity in the thriving marketplace of contract manufacturing in the steel fabrication industry.
We have talent and experience in fabrication within the industries we serve and are in search of a motivated self-efficient individual as our Buyer. The ideal candidate will align with our core values and bring a servant leader mentality to everything they do! The Buyer will be based at the Cleves location. This position is on-site, full time.
The Buyer plays a key role in the procurement of materials, supplies and components necessary for our manufacturing operations. The Buyer will ensure that materials are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner while maintaining the quality standards required for production. The Buyer works closely with the Purchasing Manager to negotiate vendor terms and prices, schedules deliveries using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production while avoiding excess stock. Manager reorder points and work closely with inventory control to prevent shortages and overstock situations. Research, analyze and forecast current and future supply bottlenecks. Communicate any supply concerns when necessary.
- External Relationships/Supplier Performance: Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers. Ensuring the best pricing, quality and delivery schedules. Negotiate contracts, prices and terms with supplies to secure advantageous agreements. Continually evaluate supplier performance metrics, including quality, cost, capacity, communication and consistency.
- Material Procurement: Source and purchase materials, components, and services necessary for manufacturing sheet metal products, including raw materials, parts, and tooling. Prioritize superior performing suppliers.
- Production Support: Coordinate with the production team to ensure materials are delivered on time and meet the required specifications for manufacturing operations. Resolve any material supply issues that may arise during production.
- Cost Analysis: Evaluate bids, analyze purchase history and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements. Maintaining comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices of preferred suppliers.
- 2-3 years of Buyer/Purchasing experience.
- Previous experience in manufacturing/production/sheet metal industry preferred.
- High School diploma with industry experience required, Associate degree/Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/TEAMS, ERP systems
