Travel: Occasional travel for trade shows, client visits, and conferences
Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm (Monday through Friday)
The Business Development Manager will help build solar market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships for solar customers. This role focuses on originating new accounts, enhancing customer relationships, and supporting capacity planning through subcontractor partnerships. The individual will work closely with internal teams to deliver turnkey and consultative services to APA’s customers.
- Originate new accounts and opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, targeted marketing, networking, and trade show participation.
- Provide strategic project structuring guidance, market insight, and consultation to customers.
- Monitor market conditions and policy developments across core and emerging solar markets.
- Track all sales activities in NetSuite (CRM).
- Select solar energy products, systems, or services based on site conditions and customer needs.
- Review design drawings and specifications related to solar installations.
- Provide timely quotes, orders, shipping, and warranty information.
- Negotiate and close high-value project and portfolio transactions.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure loyalty through excellent service.
- Collaborate with marketing and advertising teams to support sales efforts.
- Represent APA at trade shows and conferences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; 3–5 years of relevant experience may substitute.
- Prior experience structuring high-value project transactions.
- Strong business communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven.
- Executive presence with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinker with strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred.
- Base salary plus competitive per-project commission incentive. ($75,000k-$110,000k)
- Prolonged periods of desk/computer work.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.
- Travel by car or plane and ability to man trade show booths.
