Position Summary
We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to lead growth in the South Central region, covering Texas (Central, South, West, and East), as well as Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arizona. This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel, including overnight stays, to serve customers face-to-face and provide hands-on support. Based in South Central Texas, you’ll represent all SSC brands with a focus on Ford Steel’s on-site customer support through our “Measure Up” service — visiting customers to measure machinery for wear parts and guide steel recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect, win, develop and maintain long-term customer relationships across the assigned South Central region.
Provide on-site service by measuring equipment and components to ensure the right wear solutions are provided.
Represent the full SSC product line — Wearalloy plate, structural steel, and plate processing solutions.
Partner with Inside Sales, CAD, and Operations teams to provide timely, informed solutions.
Enter and manage leads, site visits, and pipeline activity in Salesforce.
Represent the SSC brands at trade shows, plant visits, and industry functions.
Qualifications
3+ years in outside B2B or technical sales in steel, fabrication, industrial supply, or equipment markets.
Mechanically inclined with field service capability.
Ability to confidently measure equipment in the field and interact with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams.
Must able to travel frequently across a multi-state territory, including TX, AZ, NM, with overnight stays as needed.
Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently across a large geographic area with excellent communication skills.
Familiar with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s license required and frequent regional travel required.
